Multicycle THz sources: crystal construction and pumping belong together
A Pécs publication and a 2026 doctoral dissertation comparing lithium-niobate source approaches.

What did the Pécs study investigate?
The 2025 paper by Nasi, Illés, Hebling and Tóth numerically compares wafer-stack and tilted-pulse-front THz sources. It analyses temporal pump shape, spectrum and conversion efficiency together. Simulation results are not presented as source performance measured by UPH.
Machining work and source development are separate tasks
Component geometry, supports and alignment interfaces form one engineering work package. Pulse generation and THz measurement belong to the experimental system. Sample drawings and intended experimental use define their connection.
A meaningful trial specifies the link between a manufacturing change and the optical measurement in advance. Alignment repeatability may be investigated separately; an improvement there does not by itself establish greater THz conversion efficiency.
